Build a working AI-powered Medical Affairs system that captures, synthesizes, and applies insight—at scale and in real time

An Immersive, Two-Day AI Experience Built for Real Impact

This is not another passive conference—this is a fully interactive, hands-on boot camp designed to transform how Medical Affairs teams operate with AI. Built for medical affairs professionals who are already AI-curious and technology fluent, this program goes straight into action!

2-Day Intensive Program

6 Interactive Modules

Group-based Build Sessions

Actual Immersive Lab Experience

Pure Impact

AI Boot_IDea

The Big Idea

What if your Medical Affairs team could capture, synthesize, and reuse knowledge instantly?

At Medical Affairs AI in Action, you won’t just learn about AI—you’ll build a working system.

In two intensive days, you’ll design and deploy a core component of a Medical Affairs Digital Twin: an AI-powered system that mirrors how your team thinks, works, and delivers insight.

AI Boot_Premium

Why It's Different

This is not a conference. It’s a build experience.

  • No passive sessions—every module is hands-on

  • Structured like a live hackathon

  • Built entirely around real Medical Affairs use cases

  • Focused on deployment—not theory

You’ll leave with something real. Something usable. Something you can take back and pilot immediately.

AI Boot_Build

What You'll Build

Working in teams, you’ll create a functional AI Twin tailored to Medical Affairs, such as:

  • Publications Brain → Evidence synthesis

  • Insights Engine → Field intelligence patterns

  • Medical Information Responder → Compliant MI responses

  • Congress Monitor → Competitive intelligence

  • Field Intelligence Engine → MSL/KOL planning

Registration & Networking Breakfast

8:20 am

MC Remarks

8:30 am
Module 1

Orientation: Why Medical Affairs Needs a Digital Twin

  • The cost of lost Medical Affairs knowledge—and the opportunity to access it instantly
  • Introduction to the Digital Twin concept across industries (manufacturing, finance, pharma R&D)
  • What a Medical Affairs Digital Twin is: connected agents + shared knowledge base

Hands-On Exercise — "Audit Your Own Function"

  • Interactive exercise: Map core Medical Affairs workflows
  • Identify repeatable inputs, outputs, and points of knowledge loss
  • Group sharing to uncover common patterns
  • Synthesis of 5–6 key workflow opportunities
  • Outputs used to inform hackathon problem selection
10:00 am

Networking Break

Module 2

Digital Twin Teams + Precision Prompting

  • Publications Brain Team — AI system that synthesizes scientific evidence
  • Insights Engine Team — AI system that aggregates field insights
  • Medical Information Responder Team — AI assistant that triages MI requests
  • Congress Monitor Team — AI system for congress intelligence
  • Field Intelligence Engine Team — AI system supporting MSL engagement

Precision Prompting

  • Introduction to Precision Prompting using the CRAFT framework (Context, Role, Action, Format, Tone)
  • Tailoring prompts to specific Medical Affairs use cases
  • How prompt structure impacts scientific credibility and output quality

Hands-On Exercise — "Prompt Your Module's Core Function"

  • Hands-on: Build and refine your module's core prompt
  • Test prompts against real sample data
  • Iterate across multiple versions to improve quality
  • Evaluate outputs against defined success criteria
  • Peer feedback and cross-team sharing of best prompts
12:30 pm

Networking Lunch

1:30 pm
Module 3

Document Intelligence: Feeding the Twin

  • Importance of high-quality knowledge inputs for Digital Twin performance
  • Processing documents: prompt vs. attached content
  • Structuring document packages for maximum accuracy and extraction
  • Key document types by module (publications, congress data, MI libraries)
  • Before/after: naive vs. structured document prompting
  • Common failure modes (e.g., data misinterpretation, hallucinated numbers)
  • Techniques to enforce citation, validation, and self-checking

Hands-On Exercise — "Knowledge Base Sprint"

Each team builds the knowledge layer of their module using a provided document package tailored to their module. Teams must accomplish three things:

  1. Extract the highest-value content from their documents,
  2. Structure it so their agent can reliably retrieve and cite it, and
  3. Identify where the documents have gaps that would cause their agent to fail or hallucinate.

This gap analysis feeds directly into their twin build.

Networking Break

4:00 pm
Module 4

Agent Design: Giving the Twin Its Intelligence

  • From prompts to fully functional AI agent (the "connective layer")
  • Agent anatomy: persona, instructions, knowledge grounding, tools, constraints, escalation logic
  • Medical Affairs–specific design considerations
  • Critical focus on guardrails to ensure safety and compliance
  • Common risks: off-label responses, use of unreliable sources, confident hallucinations
  • Guardrail best practices: uncertainty flagging, mandatory citations, scope control, expert escalation triggers

Hands-On Exercise — "Core Agent Build"

  • Core build session: assemble prompts + knowledge into a working AI agent
  • Checkpoint 1 (25 min): persona, core instructions, and guardrails defined
  • Checkpoint 2 (55 min): tested against real and adversarial queries
  • Identify and document failure modes and design decisions
  • Outputs feed directly into Demo Day presentation and evaluation
6:00 pm

End of Day One

8:00 am

Networking Breakfast

8:50 am

MC Welcome to Day 2

9:00 am
Module 5

Integration + Stress Testing the Twin

  • Framing question: "Can this be trusted?"
  • Three pillars of trust: scientific accuracy, regulatory compliance, operational reliability
  • Introduction to red-teaming for AI validation
  • Origins in cybersecurity, now applied to AI safety
  • Focus on edge cases: rare diseases, off-label scenarios, ambiguous queries
  • Why most AI failures come from untested scenarios

Hands-On Exercise — "Red Team Your Twin"

Phase 1: Self Stress Test — teams challenge their own agents using adversarial scenarios

  • Identify failures (e.g., unsupported claims, off-label responses, conflicting data handling)
  • Implement real-time fixes and improvements

Phase 2: Cross-Team Red Teaming — test another team's agent

  • Fresh perspective to uncover hidden risks and gaps
  • Deliver structured feedback ("findings brief")
  • Integration opportunity — connect top-performing modules to demonstrate end-to-end Digital Twin architecture
11:00 am

Networking Break

11:30 am
Module 6

Demo Time + The Twin Roadmap

Presentations

  • Team presentations (10 min each): 6-min live demo + 4-min Q&A
  • Demonstrate handling of both standard and adversarial queries
  • Explain key design decisions and agent behavior
  • Peer and facilitator feedback on performance and approach

Twin Architecture Synthesis

  • Digital Twin architecture overview — connecting all modules into one system
  • "Helicopter view" of how individual builds form a complete solution
  • Discussion: what it takes to deploy in a real MA organization
  • Key considerations: IT infrastructure, legal/compliance, change management

Personal Deployment Commitment

Each participant completes a structured one-pager:

  • The one prompt or agent behavior I will bring into my workflow next week
  • The module I think my organization is most ready to pilot in 90 days
  • The stakeholder I need to bring into this conversation first
